Why Overthinking Feels So Exhausting
Something people don’t always see
Overthinking is tiring.
Not physically.
Mentally.
Because your brain keeps replaying:
- conversations
- mistakes
- future situations
- worst-case scenarios
Even when nothing is happening.
The difficult part
Sometimes overthinking feels productive.
Like if you think about something enough…
You’ll somehow control the outcome.
But most of the time…
It just creates more stress.
What I’ve noticed
The more mentally overwhelmed I feel…
The harder it becomes to switch my brain off.
Even small decisions start feeling heavy.
And eventually your mind just feels overloaded.
Something to think about
How much of your energy is being spent on things that haven’t even happened yet?
Closing
Your brain isn’t broken for overthinking.
It’s probably just exhausted from carrying too much mentally.
